For my remix of Dua Lipa’s “Physical”, I started by isolating the vocal and building a new rhythmic foundation to give the track a fresh identity. I focused on creating a strong low end with 808s, kicks, and claps to drive the groove, while layering synth textures and effects such as risers and sweeps to add energy and transition between sections. My goal was to keep the power and excitement of the original while pushing it toward a club-ready, modern style.
During mixing, I shaped the balance with EQ to carve out space for the vocals and applied compression and limiting on the mix bus to glue the track together. Stereo widening and automation helped create a sense of movement and depth, especially in the chorus sections. The final master was brought up to streaming standards, ensuring clarity, punch, and competitive loudness while still letting Dua Lipa’s vocal remain the centerpiece of the remix.
